The orphanages or state run institutions in Ukraine (and around the world for that matter) are known as “hard places”. Currently, we are working with the orphans from 0-5 years of age. At this age group, they are generally kept in what are known as “baby houses”.
Many of the children have some form of disability. As well, somewhere between 80-90% of the children have one or more living relatives. And its a statistic that is surprisingly found worldwide as well.
Because of these realities, we work with families, caregivers and the children.
