Intercountry adoptions in Ukraine may take approximately three months to one year to complete. After Ukraine’s Adoption Authority registers the prospective adoptive parents’ dossier, it generally takes between two to six months to get an adoption appointment for matching with a child. Prospective adoptive parents may have to wait an additional six to 12 weeks for the completion of: all required consents, a court hearing, issuance of a child’s new birth certificate and passport, and medical and visa processing.
